The Mayo Football League appears poised to unveil ground breaking news in the coming days as the newly established club seeks to make its mark in the League of Ireland.

Umbro Ireland has officially acquired the coveted naming rights to Milebush Park, Castlebar. This strategic partnership, inclusive of potential shirt sponsorship, is poised to surpass the financial benchmarks set by the previous sponsor, Solar 21.

Mayo F.C., gearing up for their inaugural League of Ireland season, is not only securing substantial financial backing but also expanding its footprint on the national stage. The upcoming season will see the club fielding teams in various categories, including Women's Under-17, and Boys Under-14 and Under-15.

Umbro Ireland's involvement in this landmark deal holds particular significance as it is a subsidiary of the esteemed Intersport Elverys group. The enduring connection between Elverys and the Mayo League has proven to be mutually beneficial over time.

A statement from Umbro reads, "our agreement with the Mayo Football League for the naming rights to Milebush Park will run for an initial three years. We are delighted with this partnership and look forward to collaborating with all involved to support grassroots football initiatives.”

However, the renowned kit manufacturer refused to disclose the financial aspect of this partnership.

Milebush Park will go under the name Umbro Park, Milebush for the coming seasons.

League of Ireland director, Mark Scanlon, previously mentioned that the Castlebar ground, owned by the Mayo League, will need "significant investment" to be ready for League of Ireland football.

Criteria such as a specified home and away end will be required, along with increased capacity.
