Car ended up on roof of another in Mayo car park
A VEHICLE in the 'top tier' of a Westport car park ended up on the roof of one below it.
The incident, at the Mill Street car park, was related by Councillor Johnny O'Malley at a Westport-Belmullet Municipal District meeting.
A barrier on the top tier area was broken, he explained, and a car went down over it onto the roof of another car.
The council had put up a barrier but that was flattened again 'and the same thing can happen again,' he warned.
It is not repaired. A barrier was put up but was flattened by the storm.
“A proper crash barrier should be put up so if a car rolls it can't roll down to the other tier. It needs to be repaired,” stated Councillor O'Malley.
He was told the barrier will be repaired for a start.
