Work commences on section of south Mayo greenway

WORK has commenced on a section of greenway in Ballinrobe.

Confirming the news, Councillor Michael Burke said: “Following a lengthy delay and review by the department I’m delighted to announce work has finally commenced on the greenway from the medical centre on the Claremorris Road to Ballinrobe Community School.

“I have kept this project as a priority following a review of works.

“This will greatly enhance safe walkways to school for all children in both primary and secondary schools in our town.”

The project cost is almost €500,000 in this phase.
