Danolla's Diner & Takeaway, Castle Street, Castlebar, has scooped two national titles at the annual Irish Takeaway Awards.

The popular business won the gold distinction in the social media category.

And it also secured a bronze accolade in the Best Fish & Chips of the Year category - a feat the proprietor, Patjoe O'Connell, is very pleased about.

Danolla's Diner & Takeaway is celebrating 21 years in business.

Good Grazing, Louisburgh, was highly commended in the Best Fish & Chips of the Year category.

Shane Smith, managing director of NI Media which run the awards, congratulated all the winners and finalists.

He said "Being here reflects on your commitment to your industry and more so to your own standards within your business.

"Being a finalist stands as a testament to the demands of the palates of diners across the island.

"We have had our inspectors out in force over the past number of months and they have chosen the businesses to be amongst the absolute best that Ireland and Northern Ireland have to offer.”
