Passing of Lily Sheridan mourned in Mayo county town
The death of Lily Sheridan, Railway Terrace, Saleen, Castlebar, is deeply regretted.
She died peacefully at the Galway Clinic, surrounded by her loving family, after a short illness.
The news of her passing has evoked an immense sense of loss in the town where she was held in such high esteem.
Lily is survived by her heartbroken family: daughters Máire (Glynn, Castlebar) and Louise (Castlebar), sons Tom (Dublin) and Michael (Mick, Castlebar), sister Kathleen (Michigan, USA), daughters-in-law Yutta and Sheila, son-in-law Padraig, her adored grandchildren Danny, Jarlath, Peter, Killian, Katie, Ellabeth, Lucyrae and Lily, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and her many great friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.
She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Katie, husband Micky, son Seán and sisters Mary, Lucy and Anne.
An employee of the P&T and Eir for many years, warm tributes are being paid to the deceased on the death notices website, RIP.ie.
"She was an amazing lady and will be greatly missed," one stated.
"What a pleasure to have known her," another said.
A further tribute described Lily as 'a warm, welcoming lady.'
Lily will be reposing at her residence, Railway Terrace, Saleen, Castlebar (F23 AK11) on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
Removal from her residence on Monday at 10.30 a.m for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m in Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Lily will be laid to rest afterwards in the Old Cemetery, Castlebar.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
