€300,000 for safety measures at junction on east Mayo bypass

FUNDING has been announced to address safety at a well-known accident black spot junction on the Swinford bypass.

Local Councillor Adrian Forkdan has announced an investment of €300,000 into safety measures and redesign of the N5/R320 Kiltimagh Road junction at Applegreen.

He has been highlighting and consulting with Transport Infrastructure Ireland and Mayo County Council about the junction.

Said Councillor Forkan: “I have been pushing for this measure for some time now and I am thrilled that funding has finally come through.

“This was a must needed investment for the safety of all on our roads.”
