Iconic Mayo pub set to feature in US documentary series

A documentary series about Irish pubs made its debut in the US this week, showing audiences the reality of rural life.

"A Proper Pint," a film by documentarian Kevin Siegert showcases, McDonnells Pub and Undertakers in Belmullet. The series promises to offer a captivating glimpse into the heart of rural Ireland.

Owned by Padraic Conroy and his family, this establishment serves as both a traditional pub and a funeral home, a fact unique to US television viewers.

The documentary highlights McDonnells as a central gathering place where locals come together to share stories, laughter and music.
