'Exciting news' as new restaurant is opening in Mayo county town

A Japanese restaurant, Kanpaiyaki, has announced it is opening in Castlebar.

The proprietors are currently preparing their premises at Shamble Street, near Market Square in the town centre.

They are seeking to hire waiting staff and kitchen staff ahead of the opening.

"If you're passionate about hospitality or culinary arts, we want to hear from you.

"Join us on this culinary journey at Kanpaiyaki" a sign on the window of the premises, proclaiming 'Exciting News,' stated.

The restaurant will also provide a take-away service.

The development is a vote of confidence in the town's busy commercial sector.
