Luke Connor has been making great strides on the hurling fields.

Mayo Young Sports Stars: Hurler played big role for two teams

Luke Connor, a senior hurler with Caiseal Gaels, shone for his own club and the new amalgamation team of St. Ciaran's last year.

In fact, he was to the fore as St. Ciaran's, in their very first year together, won the Mayo Senior B hurling title, beating Castlebar Mitchels in the final.

Luke's performances were such that he has now been added to the Mayo senior team, and is a regular starter.

From a major hurling family, Luke would appear to have more good years ahead of him on the field of play.

His performances have earned him a Connaught Telegraph Mayo Young Sports Stars Award, with the presentation to be made at the gala ceremony in Breaffy House Resort, Castlebar, on Friday, March 8.
