Mayo Young Sports Stars: GAA player helped club to county and provincial titles
Lahardane MacHales made short work of the Mayo junior football championship in 2023, and went on to add the Connacht title before bowing out of the All-Ireland race at the semi-final stage.
One of the star performers all year was Kyran Jordan, who lit up the Lahardane charge with some sterling performances throughout the year.
It isn't easy to recover from relegation to the junior grade and regroup for a tilt at the title, but Lahardane made it look simple enough last year.
Adding the Connacht title was a great bonus, and Kyran belied his years by delivering great leadership with his brilliant performances in the county and provincial championship games.
For his consistent performances, Kyran has been chosen as the GAA category award winner in The Connaught Telegraph Young Sports Stars of the Year. He will be presented with his award at the gala ceremony in Breaffy House Resort, Castlebar, on Friday (March 8), tickets for which are on sale now.
