Mayo Young Sports Stars: Martial artists enjoy success at home and abroad

The White Tiger Competition Team displayed excellence at the European Championship in Slovenia, which took place last October 2023, and also excelled at the Karate Ireland Nationals in November.

The team members were Maya Kulendran (bronze in kata at Euros, gold in kata and kobudo at nationals), James McLaughlin (silver in kobudo at nationals), Lucas Heverin (bronze in kata at Euros, gold in kata and kobudo at nationals) and Donnchadh Heverin (bronze in kata at Euros and gold in kata and kobudo at nationals).

Collectively, they won a total of six gold, one silver and three bronze medals at the two championships.

These impressive young athletes are being recognised for their achievements in The Connaught Telegraph Mayo Young Sports Stars Awards.
