Chamber hosts successful Mayo 'Growing Business' event

CASTLEBAR Chamber members, local business owners and representatives were joined by business representatives from Westport, Ballina and Claremorris in Breaffy House Hotel on Monday night for the Castlebar Chamber of Commerce 'Growing Business' event.

A full house for an extremely informative evening discussed the themes of development, sustainability and driving success in your day to day business.

Special guest speaker and MC on the night was well known presenter and broadcaster Ivan Yates.

There were some interesting discussions from leading experts surrounding retail, sustainability and business growth with contributions from an expert panel that included Pat McDonagh (Supermacs), Evelyn O’Toole (CLS), Sorcha O’Grady (TruckScience), Owen Clifford (Bank of Ireland), John Magee (Mayo LEO), Sarah Flood (Snap Print) and Derek Hannick (Lean Green Management Services).

Castlebar Chamber was represented by their current committee and Chamber president Anne Conlon speaking at the event, who said: “I am delighted to showcase our town and all that Castlebar has to offer.”

Anne was delighted with the significant turnout, saying: “Events like these help foster a thriving business environment by learning from the experiences of other successful business owners.”

Michael Gill, Castlebar Chamber membership officer, outlined the many benefits and value of joining Castlebar Chamber, which will no doubt on the back of this event have their numbers swell in the coming weeks.
