Prestigious Mayo awards for Rita Casey and West on Track

The Mayo Association in Dublin has today presented their 2024 Mayo Person of the Year and Mayo Meitheal Awards.

Garda Rita Casey, Charlestown, received the Virginia Gallagher Mayo Person of the Year Award for her outstanding fundraising and other achievements while undergoing treatment for cancer.

Members of the West on Track group were honoured when bestowed with Paddy Moran Meitheal Award for their work in campaigning for the reopening of the old railway line from Sligo to Ennis.
