Flooding possible for coastal areas in Mayo due to high tides

A warning for parts of the county has been released by MetEireann.

Take a look below at what the weather has in store for the county.

MONDAY, MARCH 10

Expect a mixed bag of weather for Monday in Mayo.

The day will kick off under mostly cloudy skies with patchy mist and outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

However, as the afternoon progresses, these conditions will gradually clear eastwards, making way for brighter spells and scattered showers.

While there's a chance of more persistent rain in southern parts later in the day, temperatures will range from 7 to 10 degrees Celsius, accompanied by light variable breezes.

As night falls, Mayo will remain under mostly cloudy skies with mist and widespread outbreaks of rain or drizzle.

The intensity of the rain will diminish overnight, though it may linger persistently and heavily in the southwest.

Temperatures will dip, ranging between 3 degrees Celsius in the north and 10 degrees Celsius in the south west, with a mostly moderate to fresh, variable wind prevailing.

Keep an eye out for potential coastal flooding due to unusually high tides.
