Two Mayo dates on Anne Gildea's new Irish tour
The great thing about Anne Gildea's show on the menopause is that it appeals to every female. Regardless of background, race or socioeconomic situation, it is a universal and hilarious show.
Anne is once more taking her How to Get The Menopause and Enjoy It show around Ireland this year, and there are two Mayo shows for local audiences to enjoy – in Claremorris Town Hall on April 20 and Westport Town Hall Theatre on November 15.
Having launched in Dublin’s Viking Theatre on Valentine’s Day 2022, the show’s combination of comedy, information, warmth, and authenticity proved an instant sell-out hit.
How to Get The Menopause and Enjoy It is currently on its third tour of Irish theatres, in addition to international dates in the UK and Europe, and the upcoming dates will see her take it on a fourth run throughout Ireland from March straight through to December.
Previously Anne was a co-founder and long-time creative/performer with The Nualas (1995-2018), Ireland’s top shiny-dressed, musical-comedy girl-trio. Their unique brand of intricately-arranged, self-penned song and provocative chat about current stuff proved a huge success.
As well as a comedy writer and performer, Anne was a featured columnist for seven and a half years with The Irish Mail on Sunday and has published two books – a novel, Deadlines and Dickheads (O’Brien Press 2006), and a memoir, I’ve Got Cancer What’s Your Excuse (Hachette, 2013). The latter inspired feature film The Bright Side, which premiered in cinemas in August 2021 and streamed on Amazon Prime from May 2022.
The upcoming tour will start on March 23 in Kilkenny and conclude in Letterkenny on December 14. For tickets, see Anne Gildea's official website.
