Funeral of Mayo teenager who died in road traffic accident

The funeral arrangements have been announced of 18-years-old Kacper Swierkowski, 43 Knockaphunta Park, Castlebar, and formerly of Jedrzejow, Poland.

A student of Davitt College, Castlebar, he died last Wednesday following a road traffic accident on the old N5 Castlebar to Westport Road at Cloonkeen, Castlebar.

The tragedy has evoked a tremendous sense of loss in the community at large.

​​​​​Kacper will be greatly missed by his heartbroken parents Robert and Jolanta , brothers David and Patryk, ​grandparents Iza and Henryk and Teresa and all his cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, neighbours and his fellow students in Davitt College, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

He was predeceased by his grandfather Boguslaw.

Warm tributes are being paid to the deceased on social media where he was described as 'a lovely young man.'

Many words of condolences are also being extended to the bereaved family.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Kacper will repose at Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar on Monday, from 5 p.m., concluding with prayers at 7 p.m.

Removal from Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10.30 a.m., walking to The Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30 a.m., followed by private cremation.
