Darragh Murray signs two-year contract with Connacht Rugby

Connacht Rugby has announced a two-year contract extension for lock Darragh Murray.

Murray made his debut in October 2022 but this season has represented a breakthrough campaign for the Roscommon native.

He has made 10 appearances this season, starting in eight of them, to bring his total appearances up to 19.

Murray is a product of the Connacht Academy, coming through the ranks of Buccaneers RFC, while he also captained the Connacht Under 18s to the inter-pro title in 2018.

Connacht Rugby head coach Pete Wilkins said: “Darragh has tons of potential and with a two-year contract extension, we’re confident he has all the tools to keep getting better.

“He’s an astute set-piece operator and always give us huge energy around the field.

“I’m sure he’ll continue to add to his skillset and be a really valuable asset for the club long into the future.”
