Town park development in Mayo county town queried

QUESTIONS over the development of a community playing pitch at the town park in Castlebar have been raised with Sinn Féin local election candidate Donna Hyland.

In order to provide an update to residents in the area, Ms. Hyland submitted a query to Mayo County Council.

She received the following response: 'In response to a motion to instruct Mayo County Council to conduct a feasibility study to assess the possibility of developing a community playing pitch at the town park members agreed that the council prepare a report of what would be involved in such a proposal and what previous restrictions and agreements are in place around the development of the town park.'
