Mayo independent candidate Kerr outlines his election policies

Stephen Kerr, a Breaffy local known for being outspoken about uncontrolled mass immigration, has launched a bid to take a council seat in the local elections next month in the Castlebar electoral area.

Mr. Kerr is running as an independent candidate and he vows to make a stand for the people of Castlebar, who he says are not being listened to.

If elected, he promises to address the lack of adequate vital services and housing.

Mr. Kerr says he will be a much-needed voice for local business owners and farmers, who he claims are unappreciated and overburdened.

He is also concerned with ensuring social cohesion and addressing crime levels in the Castlebar area.

Mayo tourism is also on the agenda, which has been affected by national and local government actions in recent times, and touching on emigration, he said: "Our young people are leaving Mayo because there are no opportunities here for them anymore."

Mr. Kerr has been openly critical of Mayo county councillors and feels that their basic promises to tidy the town or maintain parks and playgrounds are not enough anymore, given that Castlebar residents are facing much more pressing issues.

He elaborated: "Since the last local election, Mayo has changed dramatically. We've seen the massive and swift placement of 5,000 asylum seekers and refugees into Co. Mayo.

"Yet there's no long-term planning, we have insufficient services, and there's a lack of integration strategies. The consent of the people was not asked for by councillors or the executive committee. Locals have been given no say whatsoever. I'm putting myself forward to represent my community because many are demanding immediate change."

Mr. Kerr has robustly lobbied county councillors consistently over the past two years regarding mass immigration policies.

He has held public meetings and co-founded the HOME group (Holistic Outlook on the Migration Emergency).

Additionally, he has put forward a motion to attendees of a public assembly, asking for them to vote in favour of not taking in any more people until such time as adequate services are in place.

Mayo County Council subsequently put forward a very similar motion and voted in favour of withdrawing their cooperation with the national government when it comes to bringing more people into the county (until such time as adequate services and resources are in place).

Mr. Kerr, founder of the online media platform The Irish Inquiry, produces regular video content in which he reports on Mayo mass immigration and those who profit from it, under what he refers to as "the guise of humanitarian duty."

He has also highlighted other matters relating to government overreach and NGO influence and in recent years has volunteered his time to support families facing bank repossessions, as well as lobbying Mayo County Council to improve drinking water quality.

Mr. Kerr has over 20 years of media experience, with qualifications in radio broadcasting, television production, and media production management. He has past experience as a news and current affairs producer at Castlebar's CRC FM, and previously worked as a transmission controller with Setanta Sports.

On achieving his goals if elected as a councillor, Mr. Kerr stated: "People want to live their lives in peace in their community here in Castlebar. They want to be able to gain employment, meet financial needs, and have access to services and resources.

"The current mass immigration policy of open borders is threatening all of that, as far as I'm concerned. Many locals are disillusioned with their current representatives and feel there is no oppositional voice. They've been told that there is nothing that can be done to stop what's happening.

"But this isn’t true. I believe a lot of the work I've done for the past two years has gone a long way to informing the Mayo community about matters current councillors are silent on.

"I believe I've done more to represent the people than they have, and I intend to continue to proactively address the issues at hand, with courage and integrity. I will speak the truth loudly and will encourage locals to stand with me, as when enough people stand together, we can achieve so much."
