Tourism chief to address Mayo meeting

THE chief executive of Tourism Ireland will address issues facing the sector at a meeting in Westport next week.

Alice Mansergh will be guest speaker at Westport Tourism Organisation's annual general meeting next Monday, May 27. The meeting takes place at 2 p.m. in the Sean Staunton Room, Westport Town Hall.

Tourism is always a challenging industry. In 2024, the many challenges include high cost of living, rates, taxes, insurance and car hire, the lack of accommodation for visitors, the lack of an available workforce, and competition with overseas destinations.

The meeting is open to all. Westport Tourism invite everyone to come along to hear what Ms. Mansergh has to say on these important matters.
