Mayo Mountain Rescue assist climber in difficulty on Croagh Patrick

MAYO Mountain Rescue Team (MMRT) responded yesterday (Monday) afternoon to help a climber in difficulty on Croagh Patrick.

The climber, who was on the summit cone of the mountain, dialed 999 for mountain rescue assistance after experiencing difficulties.

MMRT dispatched three first responders to the scene at 5 p.m. and requested assistance from Coast Guard Rescue 118 helicopter, they reported on their social media.

Rescue 118, who were first on the scene, assessed and treated the climber, and with assistance from MMRT winched the man into the helicopter for transport to hospital in Galway.
