Warm tributes to popular Castlebar man Myles Cresham on his passing

The death of Myles Cresham, Maple Lawn, Castlebar, is deeply regretted in the county town.

He died peacefully at his home yesterday surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Formerly of McHale Road, Myles was held in high esteem in the community and his passing has evoked an immense sense of loss. He operated a taxi service in the town for many years.

Myles will be sadly missed by his loving wife May, sons and daughters Bernadine, Laura, Myles, Louise, Brenda, Rebecca, Richard, his brother Tommy (Altrincham), grandchildren Shauna, Niall, Kirsten, Catherine, Jane, Kelly, Keith, Conall, James, David, Ciara May, Emma, Sarah Jo, Rebecca, Mike and Tommie, daughters-in-law Caroline and Laverne, sons-in-law, Aidan, Declan, Sean and Paul, brothers-in-law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the Cresham family on their loss.

Many lovely tributes are being paid to the deceased on social media.

One stated: "Fond memories of Myles growing up in Castlebar always a smile and a kind word."

"Such a gentleman and a pleasure to have known," another said.

A further tribute described Myles as 'a true gentleman'.

Myles was an accomplished soccer player in his youth and represented his county at Under-18 level.

His remains will be reposing at Coady's Funeral Home on Friday from 5.30 until 7 p.m., followed by removal to his home.

Removal from his home on Saturday morning at 10.15 a.m. to the Church of The Holy Rosary for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. with interment afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
