Mayo football club supporters in amazing 'jungle' challenge

The ballroom of the McWilliam Park Hotel in Claremorris will be transformed on Friday, May 31, into a jungle.

Inspired by the hit show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, the “Jungle Challenge Fundraiser” presents a great night of fun and entertainment.

The event is being run by Ballinrobe Town AFC with the aim of raising funds to enhance existing facilities and secure new ground to expand training space to support a dramatic rise in participation.

The show is not for the faint hearted as 24 brave local contestants will be put to the test by taking part in a variety of 10 challenges/trials.

Who can survive the Hell Holes, Bugs, Snakes, devour the Gourmet Critters and overcome a series of spine tingling and tension-filled challenges to beat their opponents, and be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle?

Alan Dowling, a member of the organising committee, said: “We’ve been so lucky with the broad mix of amazing local characters who have agreed to support.

"We have representation from local sports clubs, businesses, community groups and even an MEP.

“We have partnered with the Fundraising Events Group who will be producing the live show in what is expected to be a packed audience so people can expect a really high-quality fun filled event.

“None of this would be possible without the support of our main sponsors, Ballinrobe and Claremorris Credit Union and Cummins and Sons. Homevalue Hardware.

"They got onboard very early on and their support gave a lot of credibility to what we were trying to achieve with this event.

"We also have an amazing group of volunteers working so hard behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.”

Tickets for the live show are available at https://www.ballinrobetownafc.com/tickets priced €30 each or €100 for 4.
