GAA club in Mayo to host mega Win 52k draw on Sunday

One lucky winner will be €52,000 better off when Ballintubber GAA Club host their Win 52k draw this weekend.

The central Mayo club’s biggest fundraising campaign in many years will come to a conclusion this Sunday (June 2) when the winning ticket will be drawn in the clubhouse at Ray Prendergast Memorial Park, Clogher.

The top prize will see €1,000 paid to one lucky winner for 52 weeks. A €1,000 voucher for Broderick's Electrical in Westport will also be up for grabs on the night.

The club intends to use the proceeds from the fundraiser to invest in new floodlights at Ray Prendergast Memorial Park, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023.

The club’s facilities in Clogher and Ballintubber are used by large numbers of adults and children representing both Ballintubber GAA and Carnacon LGFA clubs.

Ballintubber have enjoyed considerable success on the field in recent years, winning five senior county titles and a number of underage titles since 2010.

Pat Barrett, cathaoirleach of Ballintubber GAA Club, thanked everyone who had helped support the fundraiser so far.

“We have had a lot of interest in our Win 52k draw and I would encourage everyone to support this fundraiser over the coming days so we can continue to invest in our facilities,” he said.

Mr. Barrett added: “We have enjoyed unprecedented success on the field in recent years, none of which would have been possible without the Trojan work of our volunteers. We hope that the support we have received from this fundraiser will allow us to continue that success, and to continue providing an inclusive, enjoyable and healthy sporting environment for our members.”

The winning ticket for the Win 52k draw will be drawn by Michael Corrigan of Corrigan’s Store in Ballintubber, a long-time sponsor and supporter of the club.

All are welcome to join the club for the draw, which takes place in their clubhouse at Ray Prendergast Memorial Park, Clogher, at 8 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets for the draw can be purchased at www.win52k.ie or from any member of the club executive.
