Mayo off to impressive start at Gaynor Cup

MAYO made an impressive start to the Gaynor Cup with a resounding 3-1 victory over Limerick District this afternoon.

Two quickfire goals by Killala's Caoimhe O'Donnell had Mayo in control by the eighth minute and Ava Mitchell of Kiltimagh Knock United followed up an assist by scoring a penalty in the 18th minute.

Limerick got a consolation goal in the last minute and Mayo now prepare for two games tomorrow, Tuesday, beginning with NERL at 10 a.m.
