Still seeking Breaffy sewerage scheme extension

THE government has been asked to instruct Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) to extend the sewerage scheme in Breaffy, as was promised.

There has been a lot of discussion on this but nothing is happening, said Councillor Michael Kilcoyne who has put down a notice of motion on the matter.

He also called on local TDs to raise the matter in the Dáil and put down a motion if necessary.

Councillor Cyril Burke supported him, saying five phases were approved and with two completed, the others were to go ahead after.

A report on the matter was requested at this month's municipal district meeting.
