The Fine Gael councillor beat the rest with a mammoth vote in Ballina local elections.

The Bonniconlon natives smashed the quota of 1,769, his surplus of 605 is now being re-distributed.

Independent Councillor Mark Duffy has also been re-elected after exceeding the quota in emphatic style.
