No let-up in sight as heavy rain to hit Mayo

Scattered showers look to dominate this weekend, according to the latest forecast.

FRIDAY, JUNE 14

Sunshine and frequent showers tomorrow, some heavy, with the slight chance of some hail and isolated thunderstorms, especially across the midlands.

Later in the afternoon, cloud and outbreaks of rain will spread from the west.

Highs of 13 to 16 degrees with mostly light to moderate west to south west winds, increasing fresh to strong at times near coastal areas.

Nationally we’ll see low pressure dominating, it'll continue generally mixed and changeable for the weekend with showers or longer spells of rain at times in places, some of it heavy. Some dry spells too with sunshine and it'll becoming drier for a time early next week.

Friday night will bring some dry clear spells, but there'll be further showers or longer spells of rain spreading from the west, some of it heavy.

Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.

Breezy in the west and southwest with fresh, occasionally strong and gusty westerly winds, otherwise winds will be light to moderate westerly or variable.
