Holly Geraghty to release debut solo harp album, "Musical Musings from Mayo"

Renowned harper, composer, and educator Holly Geraghty is set to release her highly anticipated debut solo harp album, "Musical Musings from Mayo," on Wednesday, June 26, at 8 p.m. in Matt Molloy's Pub, Westport.

The ten-track album is a heartfelt tribute to the people, music, and landscape of Holly's native Mayo. It features a captivating blend of traditional Irish music and newly composed pieces, deeply connected to this culturally rich region. "Musical Musings from Mayo" also includes contributions from distinguished guest artists: Matt Griffin on guitar, Dan Bodwell and Caimin Gilmore on double bass, and Maria Ryan and Lucia MacPartlin on violin.

Originally from Ballindine, Holly Geraghty has been immersed in Irish traditional music from an early age. She began her musical journey with the concertina before moving on to the harp, earning numerous All-Ireland titles on both instruments. Holly's talent has taken her across Europe, Britain, America, and Canada, where she has performed and taught at academic institutions and international festivals.

Holly holds an impressive array of academic credentials, including a Bachelor of Music, a Graduate Diploma in Music Education, a Master's in Irish Traditional Music Performance, and a Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership. Her 2009 duet album "Ceolmhar" received widespread critical acclaim.
