Mayo library hosting special book launch this weekend

Ballina-based children’s book author and illustrator, Naveen Maremanda, is launching his latest books, World of Sathvik and His Friends Book 2 and Book 3, along with his brand-new title, The Ordinary Days of Extraordinary GruffleGreens.

The launch event this weekend will also introduce an innovative smart speaker preloaded with engaging stories from the World of Sathvik and His Friends series.

The book launch is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, at Ballina Library, commencing at 2 p.m. The event is open to the public, and families are encouraged to join in the celebration of creativity, adventure and innovative storytelling.

Last year, Book 1 of World of Sathvik and His Friends was released and good support from readers made it possible to bring on two more books.

Naveen Maremanda, a software professional and passionate illustrator, draws inspiration from his 11-year-old son, Sathvik, and his real-life friends to create the enchanting world of Millville. This imaginary town Millville, is home to the Nuts and Bolts Club, where Sathvik and his friends Eoghan, Shuna, Charlie, James and Conor embark on exciting adventures with Sathvik's grandparents.

Naveen’s books are a blend of real-world experiences and imaginative storytelling, making them a delightful read for children and adults alike.

In collaboration with Ballina-based choir singer Geraldine McKenzie, Maremanda has brought the world of Millville to life through audio narration.

McKenzie's expressive storytelling captures the essence of the adventures and engages young listeners.

To enhance accessibility and enjoyment, the team has developed a retro cassette-shaped smart speaker preloaded with the captivating stories from the World of Sathvik and His Friends series. This Bluetooth speakers comes with a USB charging facility and is preloaded with World of Sathvik stories.
