Mayo postman retires after 44 years of dedicated service

Sean McGing has retired after 44 years of service to the Westport postal area.

The Ayle man was involved in every facet of postal life, most notably his long tenure in the local union where many transformations took place.

Both current and former postal colleagues turned up today to wish Sean a long and happy retirement.

Ger Dawson, manager of Westport DSU, presented Sean with a cuchulainn statue (pictured) to mark his 44 years service to An Post.
