Warm tributes to Mayo woman on her passing in Australia

Warm tributes have been paid to Evelyn Carolan (née McDonnell), St. Bridget Crescent, Castlebar, whose death has occurred in Tasmania, Australia

Evelyn will be dearly missed by her loving partner Erwin Winkler, her daughter Lorraine and her dad Pete Carolan.

She is also survived by her two grandsons Teddy and Archie, son-in-law Tom, her brothers Hughie (Castlebar), John (Tullamore) and Paul (Tipperary), sisters Deirdre Conway (Castlebar), Ashling (Castlebar) and Loretta Dunne (Donegal) aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Predeceased by her parents Johnny and Bridie and her sisters Mary and Catherine, Evelyn will be missed by her large circle of friends, all of whom meant a lot to her.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their great loss.

A ceremony celebrating her life took place yesterday in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, and the large turnout underlined the esteem in which she was held.

A cremation service will take place in Tasmania.

Many lovely tributes have been paid to her on social media.

One stated: "I was deeply saddened to hear lovely Evelyn had passed away. She was always such fun and so popular."

Another said: "Remembering her with fondness, she always had a kind word and a great sense of humour. Sleep well beautiful girl."

A further tribute observed: "She was a very special person, full of fun and ability."
