Warm Mayo tributes to 'kind lady' Anne O'Neill on her passing

The death of Anne O’Neill (née Moore), Fr. Meehan Place, and late of Staball, Castlebar, is deeply regretted in the county town where she was held in high regard and esteem.

She died peacefully in the care of the staff of Mayo Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.

A member of an old and respected Castlebar family, warm tributes are being paid to her on social media.

One stated: "Anne will be missed very much in the community. I will never forget her lovely smiles."

"She was an amazing, resilient, fun and kind lady," another said.

Anne is lovingly regretted by her heartbroken husband Noel, daughters Maria (Morahan) and Niamh (O’Tool), son Noel, grandchildren Aaron, Darragh, Davy, Rachael, Adam, Matthew, Anna and Emma, sons-in-law Mick and Stephen, daughter-in-law Cathriona, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Annie, brothers Patrick and Liam and her granddaughter Aoife.

Anne will repose in Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, this evening (Thursday) from 5.30 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to her daughter Maria’s residence, Horsepark, Castlebar.

Removal from Maria’s residence on Friday morning at 10.30 a.m for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Anne will be laid to rest afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
