Green light for south Mayo urban housing development

THERE'S good news on the housing front in south Mayo.

A 29-unit development in the town has been granted planning permission.

EMW Developments Ltd. are behind the proposal to construct 12 three-bedroom houses and nine two-bedroom houses at Lower James Street (Clare Td.), Claremorris.

There was some concern raised with planners in submissions relating to traffic congestion, loss of green space and environmental impact.
