Death of popular Mayo garage owner is deeply regretted

The death has taken place of Michael Rice, Rice's Garage, Milebush, Castlebar.

He died peacefully at Mayo University Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Many warm tributes are being paid to him on social media where he is described as 'a gifted craftsman' and 'a true gentleman'.

Michael will be forever missed by his loving wife Ann, daughters Aisling and Dearbhla, son Ciaran, sons-in-law Declan and Daragh and his adored grandchild Faye.

He is also survived by his brother Padraic, sisters Margaret and Ann, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

Michael was predeceased by his parents John and Nora and brothers Martin and John.

The remains will repose at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, this evening (Monday) with removal at 8 p.m. to his residence.

Removal on Tuesday morning from his home at 10.30 a.m for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Michael will be laid to rest afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
