Mayo SPAR stores receive top accolade for retail excellence

A number of Mayo SPAR stores have been honoured at the recent SPAR 365 Standards Customer Care Programme Awards for achieving exceptional standards in retailing.

The awards ceremony was held in Lawlor’s Hotel, Naas, Co. Kildare, and hosted by BWG Foods – owners and operators of the SPAR brand in Ireland.

The Mayo stores who received a SPAR 365 Retailing Standards Award were: Anthony Kernan and Damian Daly of Kernan and Daly’s SPAR, Main Street, Charlestown; Pat and Una McDonagh of McDonagh’s SPAR, Ballyhaunis Road, Charlestown; Danny McHugh of McHugh’s SPAR, Ballindine; SPAR Corrib Oil Ballyhaunis; SPAR Corrib Oil Westport; SPAR Corrib Oil Ballinrobe; SPAR Corrib Oil Castlebar; SPAR Corrib Oil Louisburgh; and SPAR Corrib Oil Swinford.

This year’s SPAR 365 Awards, held in association with independent bodies Solution Management Associates (SMA) and Lloyds Register Quality Assurance LRQA, recognise those SPAR stores who have excelled during the year across all areas of store.

In winning these awards, the SPAR stores were independently assessed across a range of criteria, including customer service through SMA as well as a robust food safety and hygiene audit conducted by LRQA.

These exemplary SPAR retailers received their award in recognition of their commitment to implementing best practice store standards throughout their store, thereby providing an excellent customer experience to their local community.
