Mayo county town mourns death of 'remarkably resilient' Joseph Fenton

The death has taken place of Joseph Fenton, 63 Rowan Drive, and Derreenmanus, Castlebar.

He died peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff in the Mater Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family.

Joseph was a remarkably resilient person who overcame leukaemia and a bone marrow transplant in his childhood years to go on and live a fulfilled life.

His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

He will be sorely missed by his heartbroken parents Joe and Ita (Derreenmanus), brothers Gerard (Knockaphunta) and Kevin (Parke), sister-in-law Karen, niece Orlaith, nephew Ruairí, uncles, aunties, cousins and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered

Joseph will repose at his residence, 63 Rowan Drive, Castlebar, on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Removal from his residence takes place on Saturday morning at 10.30 a.m for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Joseph will be laid to rest afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
