Traffic lights in south Mayo town operational next week

TRAFFIC lights in Ballinrobe are due to become operational next week.

It is hoped the lights will help ease traffic congestion, which is a big issue in the town.

In an update on his social media, Councillor Patsy O'Brien explained how the head of roads has informed him that the contractor constructing the new lights in Ballinrobe has confirmed that the ESB connection has been completed, and he is awaiting the lights to be commissioned and the crank pole to be installed.

“He expects the lights to be operational later next week,” said Councillor O'Brien.

“Hopefully this will help with the traffic congestion in Ballinrobe.”
