File for DPP following Mayo drugs seizure

DRUGS with a value in the region of €10,000 were seized by gardaí in Mayo on Friday.

Gardaí attached to the Mayo drugs unit executed a search warrant at a premises in north Mayo as part of a joint operation with colleagues in Sligo to prevent and detect the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the area.

A large quantity of pills suspected to be MDMA, valued at €5,500, and suspected cannabis valued at €4,358 was seized.

One male was arrested at the scene.

All drugs will be sent for analysis and a file will be submitted to the DPP.

The inter divisional collaboration was conducted under Operation Tara.
