Mayo Sailing Club honours memory of late Tommy Gibbons

MAYO Sailing Club has honoured the memory of the late Tommy Gibbons from Inislyre.

Tommy, who was a valued member of Mayo Sailing Club, died in a drowning tragedy in July 2009.

Now, the club has named their new committee boat, the Tommy G, in his honour.

Tommy's family, friends and Mayo Sailing Club members gathered on Rosmoney Pontoon on Sunday to unveil the boat and remember this valued seafarer whose loss to the greater Clew Bay area was immense.

Tommy was a stalwart of the Clew Bay community, a kind, caring man who was always there when people needed help.
