Victim of Mayo fire tragedy is named as community helps bereaved family

The man who died in a fire which broke out in a premises at Tolan Street, Ballina, yesterday, has been named as Dusan Ivan, a popular member of the local community.

His body was found deceased at the residence by emergency services and was removed to Mayo University Hospital for a post-mortem.

A second man is being treated at the Castlebar facility for what are described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are ongoing into the accident.

A go-fund-me page has been set up to help his family at this difficult time.

Over €13,000 has been raised to date for the worthy cause.
