Mayo GAA goalkeeper, broadcaster and councillor to turn comedians for charity
Castlebar Golf Club has announced it is staging a unique fundraiser event, billed as 'You Must Be Joking', on Saturday, September 14, at 8 p.m. in TF Royal Theatre, Castlebar, event sponsors.
Get ready for a great night’s entertainment at this unique fundraiser event where you will see some of Castlebar and Mayo’s best known faces step completely out of their comfort zone and dip their toes into the world of Stand-Up Comedy.
Under the guidance of the extremely funny local comedian Ger Staunton, who will also host the event, the fearless participants will have you laughing in the aisles! One way or another!
The eager six are Robbie Hennelly of Breaffy and Mayo GAA fame; Michael D McAndrew from Mid-West Radio, Walter Donoghue, local businessman and star of many a local pantomime and musical, Councillor Donna Sheridan of Mayo County Council fame, Joe McDonald, renowned chairperson of Castlebar Celtic FC, and Triona O’Grady, member of Cliff’s Journey fundraising committee.
They will be doing their absolute best to bring the laughs and entertain you on the night.
And of course, Ger will also be entertaining the audience with his own Stand-Up Routine as our Guest Performer.
Proceeds from the night will go to Castlebar Golf Club and also to Cliff’s Journey, a very worthwhile charity set up to help one of the golf club's members readjust to his new way of life since his traumatic life changing surgery.
There is also a chance for the winner to receive a cheque for their chosen charity, so make sure you come along and support your favourite and their chosen cause.
Tickets are €25 each and available online through Ticketmaster/Universe.com site or from Castlebar Golf Club.
