Hoops open up 11-point lead in Mayo 'Super' title race

Castlebar Celtic’s march to the Mayo Super League title continued as they put nine past Conn Rangers without reply for a second time this season.

The Hoops have been relentless this season and it was no different in Mount Falcon as they moved 11 points clear at the top of the table.

They were four goals up at the break thanks to two goals from Jordan Loftus and strikes from Dylan Edwards and Jason Hunt.

A double from Luke Kelly ended any chance of a Rangers comeback and further goals from Oran Groarke, Niall Brennan and Edwards made it another emphatic win for Stevie Gavin’s side.

A back-to-back title success is within close reach.
