Prior Warning Notices issued for a number of Mayo bathing waters

MAYO County Council has issued Prior Warning Notices for a number of bathing waters, due to forecast heavy rainfall over the next few days and possible impact on bathing water quality.

Bathing waters affected include the following.

Westport Area:

The Point, Westport

Old Head Beach

Clare Island Beach

Carrowniskey Beach

Cross Beach (Louisburgh)

Tallaghbawn/White Strand

Silver Strand

Achill Area:

Dugort Beach

Dooega Beach

Belmullet Area:

Portacloy Beach

Belmullet Outdoor Swimming Pool

Ballina Area:

Ballycastle Beach

Castlebar Area:

Lough Lannagh

Claremorris/Swinford Area:

Pontoon beaches

Meanwhile, the Do Not Swim notice at Carramore Beach remains in place until further notice.
