Midnight call-out on Croagh Patrick for Mayo Mountain Rescue

MAYO Mountain Rescue Team responded to a midnight call-out to assist a walker in difficulty on Croagh Patrick last night.

The call was received at midnight to assist a male walker, who was having difficulty descending the mountain due to lack of visibility.

Team members were tasked with searching the tracks from both the north and south sides of the mountain and, after about an hour, located the man on the shoulder close to the base of the summit cone.

The man was walked off the mountain safely and provided with transport back to his hotel.

The team was stood down at 3 a.m., Mayo Mountain Rescue reported on their social media.
