By Caoimhín Rowland

Wexford FC has announced the signing of Westport goalkeeper Conor Walsh on loan for the remainder of the season.

Wexford FC expressed their excitement about the new addition in a statement: "We are delighted to confirm the arrival of Conor Walsh on loan from Sligo Rovers. The 19-year-old keeper has made 6 Premier Division appearances already for Sligo, before going on loan to Finn Harps for the first half of this year where he made another 6 appearances. A Mayo native, he has represented Ireland at U15, U16, U17, and at U19 level."

This move signals Wexford FC's strong intent as they aim for promotion, with a tight race ahead in the First Division where only seven points separate 6th place and 3rd place.

Wexford FC travel to the Carlisle Grounds to play Bray Wanderers this evening in the race for a play-off spot.
