Get Ready for HER Outdoors Week in Mayo, taking place from August 12 to 18 with events throughout the county.
Building on the success of previous years, Mayo Sports Partnership are thrilled to be part of HER Outdoors Week once again as it launches the highly anticipated 2024 calendar of events.
Through valued partnerships, almost 30 events have been organised, providing wonderful opportunities for women of all ages and backgrounds to participate in a range of outdoor activities.
“We are delighted to be hosting HER Outdoors Week again this year. This is a very popular week and is the fourth year Mayo Sports Partnership are involved.
“We encourage everyone to download a copy of the Mayo HER Outdoors Week calendar of events and join us in the celebrations,” said Janette Slattery, promotions and evaluations officer, MSP.
Adding to the excitement, MSP has announced several new events that have been included in the calendar this year. These events include guided hikes, walks and climbs, sauna, yoga and dips, plus lots of opportunities to try water sports.
HER Outdoors Week aims to celebrate and encourage more females to get out and enjoy the benefits of being in the outdoors while bringing visibility to the opportunities for females to get involved in outdoor physical activity.
This week is all about providing more opportunities for all females to escape to the outdoors and try something new. For such a tiny island, there are so many incredible outdoor activities on offer, and this should be celebrated to the fullest.
