West Mayo car park entry/exit tweak suggested

A REVERSAL of the entrance/exit situation has been suggested for the James Street car park in Westport.

At the moment, if you go into the car park and can't find a space, you leave via the bottom exit and start another lap around town.

If this was reversed, and you entered via the current exit, on leaving the car park a driver would still had the option of crossing over to try and find a space in the car park behind the Clew Bay Hotel.

Councillor Brendan Mulroy has suggested that this would see an easier traffic flow and would give motorists two opportunities to find a space instead of just one.

Raising it at a local municipal meeting, he was told it was something council management could look at, even to try it as a trial.
