The late Joe Deacy.

Quest for justice continues with Joe Deacy memorial walk this Sunday

AS gardaí continue their investigations into the death of Joe Deacy in Mayo seven years ago, family and friends will again honour his memory this weekend.

The Joe Deacy memorial walk will take place tomorrow (Sunday, August 11) at 12.30 p.m., commencing from the Kinaffe junction on the N5 outside Swinford.

The 21-year-old from St. Albans, UK, who was a massive Mayo GAA supporter, was found unresponsive in the driveway of a house he was visiting near Swinford on August 12, 2017.

He later died from his injuries at Beaumount Hospital, Dublin.

His family has been fighting for the last seven years to get justice for their loved one and the fight will continue until that is achieved.

The Justice for Joe campaign say they will continue their peaceful walk every year in search of answers of what happened that night, again urging anyone who has any information to come forward.

Councillor Brendan Mulroy, speaking on RTÉ Radio 1, said the Deacy family need answers and he called on local political representatives to stand with and support the family in getting justice.
