First sod turned on new Mayo €7.6m. housing investment

Mayo TD and Minister of State Alan Dillon has turned the first sod ahead of the construction for 20 new social homes at Polranny, Achill Sound.

It is a €7.6 million investment on the old school campus site and is facilitated by Mayo County Council.

This housing project, funded through the Housing for All initiative, will deliver a mix of A-rated 1, 2, and 3-bedroom homes.

"Once completed, these homes will provide a secure, long-term place to live, making a real difference in people’s lives in Achill," stated Minister Dillon.

He wished contractors LPB Building Services a successful and safe building programme.
